A two-vehicle crash occured at the intersection of Ronald Reagan Parkway and Lake Wilson Road. One of the involved vehicles was a marked Polk County Sheriff's Office car. The lights and sirens were not activated on the sheriff car at the time of the crash. The deputy suffered non-serious injuries and was treated and released at Heart of Florida Hospital. The driver of the other car suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Health Center. The passenger in the vehicle died at the scene.
