A double fatal accident happened Monday night in Davidsonville around 8:42 p.m. when two vehicles crashed head-on in the 400 block of Central Avenue West near Beards Point Road. A black Audi TT was traveling westbound Central Avenue when it crossed the centerline and crashed with a silver Toyota Yaris. Marie Elaine Higgs, 60, the driver of the Yaris, was declared deceased at the site. Nicholas Anthony Cassidy, 22, driver of the Audi, was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis where he later died from his injuries.

Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal car crash in Davidsonville Friday morning.
The crash happened on MD 50 westbound near MD 424, Anne Arundel County police said at 6:45 a.m. Maryland State Police at the Glen Burnie Barrack said they had few details immediately available on the crash.
It was not yet known whether a storm that dropped more than an inch of rain across the region before 6:30 a.m. contributed to the crash. Two lanes are open on MD 50 but traffic is delayed, county police said.

Two bicyclists were injured after a hit-and-run crash on Central Avenue at Patuxent River Road Saturday evening. According to police, the first bicyclist, Lynn Kristianson, was struck by a light-colored SUV that fled west on Central Avenue. The second bicyclist, Maile Neel, was riding directly behind the first and also crashed. After the collision, Kristianson was also struck by a 2005 Chevy Impala. The Impala stayed on the scene. The hit-and-run vehicle is believed to be a Honda SUV, light in color (possibly silver or white).
