Sherman Rodney Brown, 25, was killed early Sunday morning when his car crashed into a tree following a police chase on Interstate 64 just before 3:30 a.m. A state trooper observed Brown  in a 2013 Toyota Camry going over 100 mph on I-64 east. The Trooper initiated a traffic stop but before the Trooper could complete the stop, Brown sped off at high speed. Brown tried to take the Indian River Road exit but lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. He died at the crash site. Brown was not wearing a seat belt.

A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision with a semi truck in New Albany, Indiana Sunday night. The accident occured on Interstate 64 on October 19, 2014 near the New Albany exit when the motorcyclist merged onto eastbound I-64 and crossed two lanes, hitting the trailer from the side. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and suffers severe head and torso injuries. Police believe that alcohol and a high speed contributed to the crash, though test results are pending. The driver of the semi truck was not hurt.

A man was killed when his pick-up truck struck a guardrail, left the road and crashed on I-64 at Indian River Road, overturning and ejecting driver Patrick E. Manley. He was transported to Norfolk Sentara Hospital where was pronounced dead.
