27-year-old motorcyclist killed, after he drifted into the oncoming traffic lane on State Road 40 in Volusia County, and was struck by a SUV driven by Robert Bendlin, 70.

A 27-year-old North Dakota man is dead after he was struck while riding his motorcycle in Volusia County.

The incident happened after 6:30 p.m. Friday at State Road 40 and Creek Haven Road.

The man was traveling eastbound on S.R. 40 on his 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Troopers said 70-year-old Robert Bendlin, of Ormond Beach, was traveling westbound on S.R. 40 in his 2006 Saturn SUV and 60-year-old Lynn Temple, of Palm Coast, was traveling eastbound on S.R. 40 in her 2009 Nissan, behind the motorcyclist.
