It was about 7:50 a.m. when 11-year-old Joshua Romero was riding his bicycle to the west on Monte Vista Avenue, and he was struck by a vehicle driven by Kurt Warner, 62, at the intersection with Lester Road. As cyclists and drivers on Monte Vista have a stop sign at that intersection, Warner technically had the right-of-way. Romero, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown to the ground, and suffered a major leg-injury, while Warner was uninjured.
