Michigan State Police are searching for a pickup truck driver involved in a fatal crash Monday morning on the Southfield Freeway in Detroit at 12:30 a.m.. The crash happened when the driver of a Pontiac sedan with a flat tire was pulling off the southbound side of the freeway near Joy Road when the car was rear-ended by a pickup truck that then fled the scene. All four occupants of the Pontiac were transported to a local hospital, where the teen was pronounced deceased. The condition of the surviving occupants has not been reported.
