Las Vegas, NVThe intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Windmill Lane has reopened to traffic after being closed for nearly seven hours because of a fatal crash that left two people dead.
The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. According to police, the driver of pickup truck was speeding southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard and rear-ended a moped stopped at a red light. Both people on the moped were thrown more than 100 feet. One person died at the scene and the other died at University Medical Center. A third car was also hit by the vehicles.

Jacksonville, FLThe St. Augustine Police Department is investigating a early morning crash that left a man dead after police say he was thrown from his scooter after hitting a downed power pole.
St. Augustine police said a vehicle was traveling along South Ponce de Leon Boulevard near King Street in St. Augustine and hit a power pole. The power pole was knocked onto the ground across the roadway.
Shortly after, a man riding a scooter hit the pole along South Ponce De Leon Boulevard and was thrown from the scooter.

Las Vegas, NVLas Vegas police are looking for a white company truck involved in a Tuesday morning three-way collision with a moped and a pedestrian in a wheelchair.
Police responded about 8:45 a.m. to the accident near Boulder Highway and Russell Road. The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center with noncritical injuries, according to police.
Police would not say how the third vehicle, a moped, was involved in the accident.
The truck, which had green lettering on the side, fled the scene.

Las Vegas, NVA 15-year-old boy driving a moped was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the northeast valley Thursday night.
Alex Martinez and a 20-year-old male passenger were traveling west on Meikle Lane about 8:20 p.m. when the accident occurred. They were crossing Ringe Lane, near Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards where they were struck by an unknown vehicle, according to Las Vegas police.
Both Martinez and the passenger on the moped were thrown onto the road. The operator of the vehicle that hit them did not stop or call the police.

New York, NYA hit-and-run driver fatally struck a 22-year-old man riding a motorized scooter in Brooklyn early Saturday, police said. The driver was heading south on Highland St. in Cypress Hills when the he slammed into Elvis Batista-Francisco near Fulton St. at about 2:35 a.m., officials said.
