Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLA 20-year-old motorcyclist dead Saturday in a two-vehicle crash at U.S. 301 and Sally Lee Drive, authorities said.
A Buell motorcycle driven by Adam Bookhamer of Lakeland was traveling northbound on U.S. 301 shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Martin Hopkins, 64, of Ellenton was driving a 1985 Jeep hauling a trailer carrying a boat west on Sally Lee Drive.
The Jeep attempted to make a left turn to U.S. 301 and entered the path of the motorcycle, a FHP news release stated. The bike collided with the trailer.
