Daniel Dana, 5, killed and Narges Shafeirad, 33, facing murder charges after car fire on Sam Eig Highway in Gaithersburg, Maryland

Montgomery County police said that Narges Shafeirad was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla when it crashed on the Sam Eig Highway near Fields Road around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. A passing fire department vehicle happened to see Shafeirad’s burning car and stopped to assist. A child in the car, 5-year-old Daniel Dana, was trapped and killed in the fire. Shafeirad was brought to the hospital with serious injuries.
