Two men suffered injuries when they crashed their vehicle into North Lake in Irvine.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Friday. The car was traveling southbound on Yale Avenue when it struck a retaining wall, went airborne and landed in the lake. The car was fully submerged upside down.

The two men, in their early 20s, were able to get out of the car and swim to the shore. They both suffered moderate injuries. They said they were the only occupants in the car at the time of the crash.
