Police investigating a head-on crash on the Southside that left one person in critical condition.

It happened Sunday around 5:30 p.m. on Beach Boulevard at Gibson Road. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said both drivers were transported to UF Health Jacksonville for injuries. They said one person has injuries that are life threatening.

The names of those involved were not released Sunday night.

The crash shut down all lanes of Beach Boulevard while firefighters removed people from the vehicles.
