Washington, DCA fire captain responding to a townhouse fire in Largo is in the hospital after getting struck by a car Tuesday on the way to the scene, authorities said.
The Prince George’s County fire captain was traveling south on Maryland 202 at about 12:30 p.m. in a marked fire department SUV with lights flashing, a department spokesman said. As he was going through an intersection, a woman driving a Nissan Altima heading west on Arena Drive hit the SUV.
