A pedestrian was struck and killed on the northbound 405 Freeway at Getty Center Drive early Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported at 5:38 a.m. The male victim, later identified as Scott Belkin, 52, was declared dead at the scene.

Only one lane is open at this time due to the investigation. Traffic was backed up past Wilshire Boulevard.

It was unclear why the man was walking on the freeway. No further information was immediately available.

Two people were injured when a car slammed into a building in the Park La Brea area Sunday morning.

The crash occurred in the 300 block of North La Brea Avenue around 7:20 a.m.

Investigators say the car was trying to pass another vehicle when it lost control.

Two people were transported to a local hospital. A Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman said an adult male was listed in grave condition, and an adult female was listed in fair condition.

The extent of the damage to the building remains unknown.

One person was killed when a Ford GT driven by the brother of actress Salma Hayek Monday morning was involved in a crash with a pickup Sunday evening on Sunset Boulevard. The crash occurred in the Beverly Crest area on Los Angeles' Westside at about 5 p.m. The driver of the 2006 Ford GT was identified as 40-year-old Sami Hayek, according to police.

Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man on a bicycle in downtown Los Angeles Sunday. The incident occurred on Alameda Street near the westbound 10 Freeway off-ramp around 2 a.m. CHP responded to a pedestrian down call and found a body in the No. 2 lane of the off-ramp with no vehicle in sight. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as a man in his early 30's. No description of the fleeing vehicle was released. The fatal crash closed Alameda Avenue and the off-ramp for a few hours, but both have since reopened.

One person was killed Friday morning at Los Angeles International Airport in an accident involving a cargo truck.

Authorities confirmed a man in his 50's, identified as the operator of the truck, died after he was run over by the vehicle on an airport service road. Details regarding the victim's identity were not immediately available.

The victim fell out of the truck and was run over, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office. The operator likely suffered a medical problem or lost control of the vehicle, according to airport officials.

A bus carrying jail inmates in downtown Los Angeles was involved in a traffic collision near the Twin Towers Jail Wednesday.

The court services transportation bus was carrying 38 inmates and two deputies just after noon when it was involved in a collision near Cesar Chavez and Pleasant avenues. The bus was able to drive to a bus bay at the Twin Towers Jail.

A big rig crash on the Hollywood (101) Freeway shut down all southbound lanes and snarled traffic for miles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported about 3 p.m. near Melrose Avenue, CHP officials said.

At least four other cars were involved. Officials said the big rig driver may have fallen asleep.

Lanes were closed between Santa Monica Boulevard and Normandie Avenue. Officials opened one lane about 4 p.m.

Three pedestrians, including two children, were injured in an accident in the parking lot of Walmart in the Panorama City area Tuesday. A Los Angeles City Fire Department official says two cars collided in the parking lot of Walmart in the 14500 block of Roscoe Boulevard at about 11:25 a.m. The crash caused one of the vehicles to hit three pedestrians. The victims were transported to a local hospital. An 8-year-old boy was in critical condition, a 37-year-old man was in serious condition and a 9-year-old girl was in fair condition.

One man was killed and three others injured in a two-car collision in downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Flower Street around 2:30 a.m.

A silver Chevy was traveling southbound on Flower Street when it t-boned a red vehicle that was traveling on Pico Boulevard, according to LAPD. The cars landed on a nearby track of the Metro Blue Line.

A man is in critical condition after crashing during a possible street race in the Rampart area. Police are looking for a car that left the scene.

Police said the incident happened at about 11:35 p.m. Thursday. The motorcyclist and a car, possibly a white Mitsubishi Lancer, were seen driving at speeds over 60 mph on Sunset Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue.

The motorcyclist lost control and crashed into a wall at a fire station. He was taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center with severe head injuries.
