One person has been killed in a car accident late Sunday afternoon in Johnson County. The accident occurred about 5:15 p.m. on southbound I-35 near Gardner. Jonah Wheeler apparently lost control of his vehicle and ended up striking a pole, leaving him to be pronounced dead at the scene.
Southbound Interstate 35 just south of downtown Kansas City reopened mid-morning Tuesday about three hours after a tractor-trailer crashed and erupted in flames.
