Ice may be the cause of a crash that killed the driver of a motorcycle near Vanderbilt early Friday morning. Authorities said a 24-year-old man from Florida was driving west on Blakemore Avenue when he lost control of his bike. Police said the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a curb. The victim was found by a passerby in the roadway. A water main break nearby had poured water onto Blakemore, which froze on the roadway. Blakemore is closed between Natchez Trace and Wellington. The investigation is ongoing.
