A 2-year-old boy died Sunday night after a car hit him in the 3100 block of North Claiborne Avenue. The boy ran into the street around 5:15 p.m. and was hit by an older-model 2-door white Chevrolet. The boy was transported to a local hospital, where he died. Witnesses told law enforcement officers that the male driver got out of the car and looked at the boy before getting back in and leaving the crash scene. The man was described as having a dark complexion and wearing a blue shirt and dark pants, police said. Several other vehicles did stop when the child was hit.
