Before 7:00 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Thomas Muir, 25, was driving a GMC pickup in the northbound lanes of Route 100 when he slammed into a Honda Odyssey carrying two teenagers and four adults. The teenagers, Miles Hannagan and Charlotte Hannagan, were wearing seat belts but were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Their parents suffered serious injuries and were taken to Paoli Hospital, where they remain in the ICU. Two other adults in the Honda were treated and released. Muir was not harmed, and he has been charged with homicide by vehicle, DUI and related offenses.

An elderly man from Alburtis has succumbed to injuries he suffered in a car crash. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says 86-year-old Vito Scarna was involved in an accident Thursday evening on Route 100 near Weiler's Road in Upper Macungie Township. Scarna died at the hospital Friday morning.
