Dick Morgan, 87, dead, and passenger Joann Morgan, 81, injured after the pickup he was driving collided head-on with a semi on Highway 19 in Northfield, Minnesota

The identity of the victim of a fatal crash between a semi and a pickup truck has been identified. On Friday afternoon Dick Morgan, 87, died after the pickup he was driving collided head-on with a semi on Highway 19 in Northfield, Minnesota. The highway was closed while the Minnesota Highway patrol investigated. A passenger in Morgan's truck was also seriously injured in the accident. Three college students were killed in a crash with a semi while traveling on an icy road near Northfield Friday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The broadside crash happened on Highway 3 at County Road 47 in Dakota County around 3 p.m.

According to the state patrol, an SUV carrying five college students was northbound on Highway 3 when it spun out and went into the southbound lanes. The semi, which was southbound, hit the vehicle broadside.
