Mobile, AL-Pensacola, FLA Duke University senior from Cary died Friday in a car crash on Interstate 10 in northern Florida.
The university says Rebecca DeNardis and six other students were traveling in a van with the director of Duke's Outdoor Adventure program when it was struck by another vehicle.
DeNardis was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Another student, identified as Joao Correia Marques, 21, was airlifted to a hospital in Pensacola, and a third student was treated and released.
Charges are pending against the driver who hit them.
