Eight people were crammed into a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze when the Marysville man drove north on Hoehn Road near Duffy Road at 1:46 a.m. The vehicle was carrying teens ranging from 16 to 19 years old, mostly from Sedro-Woolley and Mount Vernon. The driver failed to negotiate a left turn and left the road to the right, rolling into a ditch on the right shoulder. A Tacoma man riding his motorcycle died Saturday after a Gig Harbor woman driving a BMW crossed the center line about 7:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of East Bay Drive Northwest and hit him head-on. The 69-year-old man was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead after the crash south of Gig Harbor. He was identified as Alex Heinz. The woman, 71, was taken to the hospital for injuries, and is expected to be okay. An 18-year-old Federal Way man died early this morning when the car he was driving drifted off State Route 167 and struck a roadside barrier in Auburn. Washington State Patrol officers could not say Saturday afternoon if Pavlo Myronets was speeding. They’re interviewing witnesses to determine how he lost control of a 2006 Toyota Scion while driving north on the highway near the exit for 277th Street just before 5 a.m.

According to police, officers tried to pull over a white van because an occupant inside was wanted on a felony warrant. The driver did not stop. Police said the van ran a red light and smashed into another van. The driver of the other van died. “They pulled him right out, he was hurt bad and couldn’t stand up,” said eyewitness Trista Arnston. The driver is cooperating with Washington State Patrol The northernmost span of the bridge collapsed into the water. Three people were pulled from the frigid waters. Amazingly, nobody died.
