A vehicle being driven by Brandon Simpkins was struck by a tractor-trailer, resulting in a fiery crash that killed six. The accident occured near Exit 41 on the westbound side of Interstate 26. Brandon Simpkins, Jermy Givens-Reedus, the front-seat passenger, and three children identified as 3-year-old Aliyah Sarai Vemira Simpkins, 6-year-old Rachael Naomi Simpkins and 4-year-old LesLeigh Robin Natalie Simpkins all died in the crash.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 25-year-old woman from Greer died after the car she was in overturned on Interstate 26 Saturday around 10:15 p.m. Troopers said a 2000 Oldsmobile was heading east near mile marker 6 when the driver tried to avoid a deer, ran off the right side of the road and the car overturned. The driver and several passengers were injured and taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where one passenger was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. SCHP said the woman was thrown from the car. The Spartanburg County coroner said the victim was not wearing a seat belt.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly wreck in Spartanburg County.

The coroner's office says that 39-year-old Tracy Lashell Briscoe of Campobello was killed in the crash.

Troopers said the wreck happened just before 1 p.m. on SC 292 at Hickory Nut Road.

The wreck involved a garbage truck and two other vehicles.
