Sometime in the evening, a truck ran a red light at the intersectino of Argonne and Sprague and struck another vehicle before finally running into a Banner Bank building. Though the driver responsible was hospitalized with minor injuries, no one else was injured in the accident. We will update this accident as more information is made available.

A 51-year-old man was hospitalized when he was struck by a hit and run driver at 16th St. and Oberlin Road. The vehicle has been described as a dark-colored, possibly green, older SUV, and police are still searching for the suspect. The victim suffered injuries to his head and leg, and is currently hospitalized in stable condition. If you have any information regarding this accident, you should contact Cpl. 27-year-old William Cody Murphy was killed when his motorcycle and a car collided in the East Broadway Avenue and North Burns Road area of Spokane Valley, WA. The woman driving the car was not seriously injured.

Alejandro Apodaca, 34, was identified by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. His death has been ruled an accident. The Nissan Altima that Apodaca was driving was traveling south on Bowdish Road near 17th Avenue and left the street, colliding with the tree around 11:55 p.m. Thursday. When medics arrived, the lone occupant, Apodaca, was unresponsive and declared dead at the scene. Investigators were on-scene this morning attempting to determine the cause of the crash. Preliminary indications point to speed as a factor.

A woman driver accused of first trying to run down a deputy who stopped her for not wearing a seat belt, then crashing her car, trying to scale a 6-foot fence and taking a swing at the deputy told the officer she really didn’t want to go back to jail. The woman eventually told a Spokane Valley sheriff’s deputy that she “got scared” Saturday night because she knew she had a suspended license and methamphetamine in her purse.
