A 51-year-old man was hospitalized when he was struck by a hit and run driver at 16th St. and Oberlin Road. The vehicle has been described as a dark-colored, possibly green, older SUV, and police are still searching for the suspect. Carlos A. Nando-Hernandez, 29, was driving west on Trent in the left lane in a 2006 Ford F150 when he hit Weathers, who was in his wheelchair. It is not clear where Weathers was or whether he was trying to cross the road when he was hit by the truck. Authorities responding to the accident found him in the left lane of Trent’s two westbound lanes. After hitting Weathers, the pickup truck skidded to the right then stopped off the right side of the road.
