Topeka, KSThe victim of a fatal collision Tuesday southwest of Topeka was identified as Trenton A. Brooks, of Topeka, who died after the car he was a passenger in crashed at S.W. 61st and Auburn Road. Brooks died shortly after at a local hospital. The car was driven by his stepbrother, Andrew Slack, 19, who was transported to The University of Kansas Medical Center with critical injuries. Their 2001 Mustang collided with a Chevrolet Impala driven by Mary Rickel, 61. The force of the crash shoved the cars into a Jeep Liberty driven by Scott Gilchrist, 56.

Topeka, KSTwo people were hospitalized when a GMC Sierra Z71 pickup truck and a four-door Buick LeSabre collided at the intersection of S.W. 17th and MacVicar. The impact caused the Buick to travel over the curb and take out an electronic crosswalk sign. Authorities believe one of the drivers failed to stop at a stop light. Both drivers were transported to a hospital in Topeka, but neither is believed to be seriously injured.

Topeka, KSA two-vehicle crash occured Monday morning around 10 a.m. at S.W. 10th and Gage in west Topeka. The collision happened when a green Ford Windstar minivan that was northbound on S.W. Gage struck a tan Chevrolet Malibu passenger car that was headed west on S.W.
