Three people were killed and five others injured following a multi-vehicle collision on I-95 in Brevard County near Rockledge at about 1:20 a.m. A 2008 Infiniti driven by Leonardo Alvarez-Savageau of Springfield, Massachusetts, exited the northbound road and hit the guardrail, then struck a 2007 Hyundai head-on, killing its driver, Kay Ferril, 64, of Rockledge, and two passengers, Willie Morgagne, 66, and Rose Neal, 56, both of Cocoa. A third passenger, Barbara Thomas, 66, of Cocoa, is in critical condition at Holmes Regional Medical Center.

A motorcyclist was killed when he rear-ended a truck on Interstate 95, fell onto the asphalt and was struck by a sport-utility vehicle Monday night in Palm Bay.

Edwin Sorto-Gonzales, 28, of Ranburne, Ala., died in the 9:05 p.m. crash, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The wreck occurred near Mile Marker 178, midway between the U.S. 192 and Palm Bay Road exits.

Sorto-Gonzales was driving a 2004 Yamaha south on I-95 when he failed to slow down and struck the back of a 1998 Chevrolet pickup.
