John Brian Kish, 47, and Kenneth Allen Marks, 64, both of Merritt Island, died when the Liberty XL-2 single-engine plane crashed into the backyard of a home on Paula Avenue. No one inside the home was injured. According to deputies, the plane took off from the Merritt Island Airport Monday evening for a test flight because Marks was interested in purchasing the plane from Kish. Witnesses said they heard the plane backfire about 8:30 p.m., then sputter and nose dive straight to the ground.
