Tuesday, April 22, 2014A woman was struck by a car and killed Wednesday night while walking across State Road A1A in Melbourne Beach, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Kathleen Lyons, 68, of Melbourne Beach, was killed about 8:25 p.m. when she stepped in front of a southbound 2009 Cadillac CTS near the beachside highway's intersection with Surf Road.
The driver of the vehicle, a 69-year-old Melbourne Beach man, was not injured, the FHP said.
