Johnstown-Altoona, PAShaner was last seen near the area of the accident on Saturday, October 18, and his body was found days later. A local coroner believes that the accident probably happened just after Shaner was last seen, and that he must have been speeding and failed to negotiate a curve, which caused his car to roll down an embankment and kill him instantly.

Johnstown-Altoona, PAA chain-reaction crash involving an estimated 50 vehicles continued to close the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in western Pennsylvania, though eastbound lanes in the same area have reopened.
The 13-mile eastbound stretch between the Clearfield and Phillipsburg exits in Clearfield County reopened about 10 a.m. The westbound lanes were expected to remain closed until early Wednesday afternoon.
