A woman was hit by a vehicle Sunday afternoon and was thrown about 20 yards from the force of the crash. The 48-year-old Martinez resident is in stable condition at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek on Monday. Police pursued felony DUI and hit-and-run charges against the driver, Michelle Cleveger, 45, of Martinez, who allegedly hit three cars and the pedestrian while driving on Alhambra Avenue around 2:21 p.m. Eyewitnesses followed Cleveger's Subaru Wagon when it fled after the crash. Police found her a few blocks away and arrested her.
