Sugar Babe Road at around 11:50 p.m. According to police, 21-year-old Matthew Messer, Jr. was driving east on Road Drive when the vehicle ran off the roadway. Messer, Jr. then overcorrected to the left and went into a ditch. Messer, Jr. was sen5 to Lee Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition. Charges are pending.

ARCADIA, FL. -- A Desoto County school bus driven by Annette Theresa Arguijo, 44 of Arcadia, with 37 passengers ran into a car Thursday morning. The bus was attempting to turn left into the driveway for Sun Bulb Inc at 1615 US-17 and failed to stop and the front of the bus struck the rear of the car.
