Allen Blank, 52, killed in single vehicle crash into tree on Interstate 95 in Edgewater.

A 52-year-old Daytona Beach man was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP said Allen Blank was killed in the wreck, which occurred around midnight Wednesday on I-95 near Indian River Boulevard in Edgewater.

Troopers said Blank lost control of his pickup truck and crashed into a tree.

The crash is under investigation.

Barbara Carol Pennington, 50, Nilda Valentine Rivera, 41, killed and Randolph Anthony Smiroldo, 54, seriously injured in chain reaction crash on Interstate 95 on May 31.

The names of those killed or injured in two crashes Saturday along Interstate 95 have been released by the Florida Highway Patrol. According to FHP reports: Barbara Carol Pennington, 50, who was driving a Freight-liner semi tractor/trailer southbound on I-95. She failed to stop for stopped traffic, hitting several vehicles causing a chain reaction of several collisions. Pennington died at the scene. Nilda Valentine Rivera, 41, was traveling in a 2013 Chevrolet Spark when she was killed as a result of the collisions.

One man killed, one other person airlifted to hospital, 14 others transported to hospital, after their shuttle bus leaves the I-95 roadway near Alexandria, crashes into a guardrail and overturns.

A shuttle bus struck a guardrail and overturned before dawn Sunday along busy Interstate 95 south of the nation’s capital, leaving one person dead and sending 16 others to the hospital, Virginia State Police said.

The bus was headed south on the heavily traveled East Coast artery when witnesses reported a white, speeding four-door passenger vehicle swerved into the bus’s travel lane.
