A woman was killed in a head-on crash in Southwest Portland Monday, police said. The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Southwest Barbur Boulevard and Southwest Miles Street. Witnesses said the car caught fire after it collided head-on with a Portland Water Bureau truck. A Good Samaritan tried to pull the crash victim out of her burning car, but could not save her, authorities said. Police said the victim died at the scene, but they have not yet released her name. Firefighters were able to douse the flames as they spread along the nearby hillside.
