New York State Police trooper Joshua Lenkins was on routine patrol on Telegraph Road in Keeseville at approximately 7:15 am when he allegedly struck a vehicle driven by Jennifer Chauvin of Peru. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two sons, ages three and six, were in the car when the accident occurred, and they are being treated at CVPH for non-life threatening injuries. New York State Police and the Clinton Country District Attorney's Office are investigating the accident.

Authorities have identified the three victims in a single-engine plane crash in the Adirondacks as a West Virginia man, his 24-year-old daughter and a 25-year-old Michigan man. State police tell local media that 63-year-old Fred Kafka of Vienna, West Virginia was piloting the Mooney M20 when it crashed Saturday morning after attempting to land at the Lake Placid Municipal Airport in the town of North Elba. Also killed were his daughter, Kathleen Kafka of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Reed Phillips of Midland, Michigan. Both were graduate students at Clarkson University in northern New York.

One person has been killed and 55 others taken to local hospitals following a commercial bus crash in Essex County, New York.

Around 8:00 am on July 18, 2014, a commercial bus operated by Autobus Fleur de Lys of Quebec overturned in the median of I-87 in North Hudson, NY.

The bus was traveling from Trois-Rivières (Three Rivers), Quebec to New York City carrying 55 passengers, operated by a 61-year-old driver.

Upon State Police arrival, one individual was at least partially ejected from the bus, which then came to rest on the victim.

Ticonderoga police have identified the elderly driver who died in an accident Tuesday in Essex County.

90 year old Tobia Secone of Ticonderoga was killed in an accident on Route 74 and Harris Point Way in Ticonderoga.

The accident happened just after 9:25 a.m. Friday.

Police said a tractor trailer traveling east on Route 74 struck the SUV Secone and his wife were driving.

Secone was pronounced dead at the scene.

Secone's wife, Margaret Secone, 81, was taken to Fletcher allen, where she was listed in stable condition.

Authorities say a 22-year-old college student from Livingston County has died in a snowboarding accident at an Adirondack ski area.

State police have identified Austin White of Hemlock in Livingston County as the man who died in the accident Sunday afternoon at Whiteface Mountain, near Lake Placid. Troopers say he ran off the Excelsior trail and into a wooded area, where he hit a tree.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
