A driver in his early 20s was traveling on U.S. 33 near Coonpath Road at high-speed when he lost control of his car and left the roadway, traveling up a hill and launching into the air. Investigators say the car was airborne for at least 50 yards. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car during the crash. He was taken to a local hospital where he died. The  driver was identified as Robert R. Canter, 22.

A fatal crash killed two 19-year-old men at 3:30 AM Sunday morning. Nathan Waller, of Lancaster, was driving on Lithopolis Road when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a pole on the side of the road near Mount Zion Road. He and his passenger Bradley Rhinesmith, of Sugar Grove, were both ejected from the car. The two teens were taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where they both died.
