According to police, Christopher Riddle, 30, was likely driving under the influence and speeding on Borden Road at about 8:40pm, when his truck began to slip and drift off of the right side of the road. Investigators believe that Riddle then overcorrected to the left, departed the roadway on the other side, and collided with a tree. The wreck took the life of Riddle's passenger, identified as Casey Becht, 32, and left Riddle with serious injuries that were described as life-threatening.

A driver had to be extricated from his pickup truck in Floyds Knobs, Indiana Sunday. The accident occurred early Sunday morning on Scottsville Road. The pickup was overturned and precariously hanging over a guardrail over a creek 15 feet below. The truck had drifted off the roadway, riding up a guardrail and crashing into a bridge abutment. The driver had to be extricated from the precariously hanging vehicle, but did not appear to have any injuries. We will have more details on this story as new information becomes available.

Floyd County police say the car driven by 20-year-old Joseph Fischer of New Albany went off the highway Tuesday night. Fischer walked away from that crash and for unknown reasons went into the travel lanes of I-64 where he was fatally struck by a car. That driver stopped immediately after the collision, and police say no charges are expected to be filed against the motorist.
