A Spruce Pine man was killed early Saturday when his pickup ran off the road and struck a tree.
The wreck occurred at 2:20 a.m. on Franklin 52, which runs between Franklin 22 and Alabama 187, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Michael Anthony Blanton, 35, formerly of Red Bay, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:10 a.m. by Franklin County Coroner Elzie Malone.
Malone said Blanton suffered blunt force trauma injuries and head injuries in the wreck.
Troopers said the wreck is still under investigation.
