Fresno-Visalia, CATwo CHP officers, later identified as Juan Gonzalez, 34, and Brian Law, 33, have died after their car crashed into a pole this morning in Fresno County, according to the CHP.
The incident happened at around 6 a.m. on Highway 99 and Bethel Avenue near Kingsburg, confirms CHP spokesman Axel Reyes.
The officers were responding to a multi-vehicle crash on southbound Highway 99 at Bethel Avenue when their vehicle hit a pole and flipped, killing them.
Authorities estimate the freeway will be closed at least until 1 p.m. today.
Kingsburg is a city located 22 miles southeast of Fresno.

But no one was prepared for what unfolded Saturday night: A horrific accident that sent an SUV carrying a mother and her four children hurtling in flames toward a nearby house. A man pulling up seconds later, sprinting toward the wreckage to help, burning his hands and arms as five people died in the flames — his people. His wife and his four children.
