Patricia Banks, 61, was driving a Toyota Corolla on Westwood Northern Boulevard when she attempted to turn onto McHenry Avenue. Banks did not yield to oncoming traffic and collided with a Buick LeSabre being driven by Peggy Hawkins, 58. Hawkins was transported to UC Medical Center, where she died of her injuries. Banks was taken to Christ Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The passenger in Hawkins’ car, Johnny Hardy, 61, was transported to University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
