Central TexasAt around 12:30 a.m. New Year's Day, 29-year-old Ruben Trevino Jr. was driving northwest on FM 621 (Staples Road) near the CR 266 intersection when he went around a curve and struck first a sign, then a power box and a light pole. The car rolled and ejected three of its occupants. Trevino was pronounced dead at the scene, and his three passengers, Victoria DeLeon, Lorena Hernandez, and Celina Burns, were transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin with serious injuries. Speed was apparently a factor, and no on in the car was wearing a seat belt.

Central TexasLate in the night, a vehicle containing Padron-Rivera and Diaz crashed into a tree off of Fitzhugh Road, and Padron-Rivera was not wearing a seatbelt. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Check back for updates including details on the cause of this accident.
