The Wickliffe Police Department responded to a reported car accident Sunday morning at the Shell gas station. Upon arrival, police found 34-year-old Benjamin Scholes at the scene of the accident. Scholes admitting to losing control of his vehicle on a patch of ice. Scholes' blood alcohol content was a .189. He was arrested and charged with OVI failure to control. He was released after posting a $3,500 bond. Police say the canopy of the gas station and gas pump received extensive damage from the crash.

A passenger died Tuesday afternoon when a woman lost control of her pickup truck on a road covered with snow and ice. The truck went down an embankment and hit a tree. Troopers said 68-year-old Jean Conley of Elkin died. Troopers said it appeared the victim was not wearing a seat belt.

A Michigan man was killed Friday in a snowmobile accident in Columbia County, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The accident was reported about 1 p.m. near Cambria, and speed and snow conditions may have been factors in the accident, according to the DNR.

Authorities say two people are dead after a minivan crashed and burned along an icy southwestern Michigan roadway. The crash happened about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in Kalamazoo County's Oshtemo Township.
