Lewis County Public Records Requests

Open files may be reviewed by the public at the Clerk's Office on the 2nd floor of the Law & Justice Center. Photocopies of documents are available for $0.50 per page. Certified copies are available for $5.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page per document. Certified copies must include the entire document.

Lewis County Jail

The stated mission for the staff of the Lewis County Jail is to support the feeling of community safety and security in Lewis County by consistently contributing toward a secure custody environment in a professional, ethical and competent manner.

Lewis County Prosecutor

The Prosecuting Attorney is the chief legal officer for Lewis County. The primary mission of a Prosecuting Attorney is to enforce criminal laws and work for the victims of crime. This includes obtaining orders for restitution for the victim, informing the victim of court dates, and acting as an advocate for the victim at trial and sentencing. The Prosecuting Attorney also acts as legal counsel to the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners and county departments, assists in certain child support cases, and performs a number of other statutory duties.

Lewis County Superior Court

Lewis County Superior Court is a state trial court of general jurisdiction situated in Lewis County. This court has state-wide jurisdiction and hears major criminal matters (felonies), civil cases including cases involving real property, domestic relations matters, appeals from lower courts (Lewis County District and Municipal Courts), and appeals from state administrative agencies. Superior Court also has jurisdiction in adoption, probate and competency cases.

Lewis County District Court

Washington State district and municipal courts may consider civil and criminal matters related to misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic, non-traffic, and parking infractions, domestic violence protection orders, civil actions of $75,000 or less, and small claims up to $5,000.

Lewis County Bar Legal Aid

Lewis County Bar Legal Aid has been a client-centered non-profit organization serving Lewis County for over 25 years. Their mission is to provide local, accessible, client centered civil legal services to low income residents of Lewis County.

Lewis County Public Works

Lewis County Public Works' primary responsibilities are the maintenance and construction of the county road network and the operation of the solid waste utility. The department has seven main divisions: Administration, Engineering Services, Traffic, Maintenance & Operations, Real Estate Services, Utilities, and Solid Waste.

Lincoln County Sheriff's Office

As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the county, the Sheriff is responsible for enforcement of county, state and federal laws. The Sheriff’s Office investigates crimes, accidents and apprehends criminals. The Sheriff’s Office also operates the county jail and dispatches emergency services such as police, fire and ambulances. As an officer of the Court, the Sheriff serves civil process and enforces Court orders and warrants.
