A crash in unincorporated Marin County near San Rafael has knocked out power to thousands of PG&E customers this morning, according to PG&E officials.

A truck crashed into a power pole while driving on southbound U.S. Highway 101, just south of Lucas Valley Road, at about 6:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the pole is being held up by the tension of the wires.

The crash has knocked out power to roughly 2,500 PG&E customers, PG&E officials said.

It is unknown when power will be restored.
