Police say a 20-year-old man from Jenkintown was apparently texting when he was struck and killed by a SEPTA train. It happened at the Noble Station at Old York Road and Rodman Avenue on Monday afternoon. SEPTA officials say the train involved was on the West Trenton line. Authorities say the victim, later identified as Andre Washington Jr., was walking on the tracks to meet a friend at a nearby Wawa. Police say he and was texting and was not facing the path of the oncoming train. The train engineer saw the man on the tracks and blew the caution horn repeatedly.
