According North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers, at around 6 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Antoinette Drive and U.S. 421/Carolina Beach Road near Monkey Junction a woman was westbound on Antoinette Drive when her car went off the road and into a ditch in front of a cemetery. The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers, who were wearing seatbelts, were in the vehicle at the time and were not injured. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

One man died when his vehicle overturned in Wilmington late Monday on Shipyard Boulevard at approximately 11:30 p.m. The man was driving a Chevrolet truck which crossed over the median, collided with a telephone pole, rolled, and crashed into a building at 4014 Shipyard Boulevard. The driver, German Hernandez Sosa, 39, was ejected and pinned beneath the vehicle. Sosa was pronounced deceased at the crash site. No one else was involved in the crash.
