Friday, May 9, 2014The Oconee County Coroner's office said a 63-year-old woman from Westminster died Saturday night after she was hit by a vehicle.
Coroner Karl Addis said the collision happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday on West Oak Highway near Pioneer Water Company.
The preliminary investigation suggests the woman was walking back to her home after getting mail from her mailbox when she was hit by a vehicle, Addis said.
The death is considered accidental, and the coroner will release her name Sunday afternoon.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
