Two men were killed in Ontario County Saturday night when their car vehicle smashed into a tree off of Melvin Hill Road in the town of Phelps around 9:30 p.m. Brandon M. Jeffrey, 29, of Clifton Springs, was driving his 2010 Kia Optima north on Melvin Hill Road when he lost control, exited the road, hit a ditch, and smashed into the tree. Jeffrey and his passenger, Christopher S. Kauder, 26, were pronounced deceased at the crash site.
