A semi-truck hit and killed a woman, identified the victim as 24-year-old Alea Price of Seattle, who was sitting in her car and waiting for help after she struck a deer on Interstate 405 Monday. Price called 911 several times to report that she was stopped in one of the left lanes on I-405 southbound in Bellevue. Unfortunately, a semi struck the woman's car and pushed it off the left shoulder. Price was alive when medics arrived, but died before making it to the hospital. A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 205 southbound sent at least two people to hospitals Sunday evening, said Trooper Will Finn of the Washington State Patrol. Shortly before 5 p.m., a trooper stopped a southbound driver on I-205 just north of 134th Street for suspicion of DUI. While on that call, the trooper saw three cars collide on I-205 near 134th Street at 4:59 p.m. One vehicle burst into flames. Both lanes at that spot on I-205 were blocked for more than an hour. Cars were allowed to use the freeway shoulder. The lanes were opened at 6:06 p.m.
A 22-year-old Bellingham man may face vehicular-assault charges after a multiple-injury accident late Saturday north of Bellingham. The man was driving northbound on Noon Road just after 11 p.m. when he failed to stop at the intersection with East Smith Road, colliding with a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by a 49-year-old Everson woman. Both vehicles were totaled. The Trailblazer driver, its two passengers and the driver of the Isuzu were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham. Another passenger in the Trailblazer was injured but not hospitalized.
State Patrol troopers are investigating the cause of an accident near midnight Saturday that sent five people to the hospital. One person was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The other four men were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Troopers said the crash occurred on the southbound onramp to I-5 just south of Fourth Street in Marysville. A 1997 Acura driven by an Everett man, 25, was stopped in one of the lanes with its headlights off when it was hit by a 1994 Ford pickup that was changing lanes. The pickup was driven by an Everett man, 54.
