A fatal crash happened on U.S. 219 in the Valley Head region of Randolph County. Earl Franklin Woods Jr., 43, of Valley Head, was walking on theside of the highway when he was hit by a Ford van registered to the DOH. Police said the van was traveling on a curve when the front side of the vehicle hit Woods. The van was driven by Austin Hamrick of Elkins.
