Crews with East Pierce Fire & Rescue were forced to cut open a pickup to rescue the driver following a wreck Friday near Buckley. The crash occurred about 6 p.m. in the 26300 block of Sumner-Buckley Highway when the pickup ran into the back of a silage truck. Crews closed the highway for about 30 minutes while they extracted the pickup’s driver. The driver and passenger of the pickup were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
