Emergency crews were on scene at an icy patch of highway 64/40 Thursday afternoon after multiple accidents happened just moments apart. Just west of the Boone Bridge on westbound 64/40, a female motorist hit a patch of ice and spun off the highway. The vehicle went across Technology Drive, a bordering roadway, before sliding into an embankment. The driver was not hurt, and there was no one else in the car. While officers responded, a second vehicle hit the same patch of ice, causing it to overturn. During the accident, one of the three people inside the vehicle was ejected.
